2026 IWEA Wastewater Challenge. The annual IWEA wastewater challenge is in our backyard this year, and NIOA leadership would like to make sure that we are represented! We are looking for 2 members to join John & Zach for a NIOA team this year! The NIOA will pay the team fee and hotel rooms, if needed for each. Details: South Bend Wastewater Treatment, May 18 & 19. The Wastewater Challenge is a day of hands-on events designed to test and stretch your how-to knowledge of wastewater. It takes a team to rise to the challenges created by the Laboratory, Operations & Maintenance, Residuals & Resource Recovery, Collection Systems, Pretreatment, and Safety committees. Competitive Teams rely on their wits, experience, and diverse members for the high score that will take them to WEFTEC to represent Indiana. This year, IWEA is excited to bring back a TWO-DAY event for 2026! The competition will take place on BOTH May 18th and 19th. Competitors must be present both days to participate. So grab your team and get ready for two full days of excitement!
Engineers, Contractors & Vendors: The Wastewater Challenge is not just for operators – you can participate, too! Consider creating a team with one or two of your clients & join the fun for the same cost as a foursome of golf!
